A JW Flows service · the AI receptionist

Your phone, answered.
Even when you can't.

You're on the tools, on a ladder, or on another call, and your phone is ringing with the next job. This is an AI receptionist that picks up when you don't (or texts the caller back within seconds), takes the job details, and books it straight into your diary. It's set up for you, it only says what you've approved, and it hands anything unusual to a human. No portal, no DIY, no new number.

How it works

i.

Keep your number

One 30-second setting on your existing phone forwards the calls you don't answer. That's the entire installation: no new number, no kit, nothing to learn. Cancelling is the same setting, switched off.

your number · your phone · 30 seconds

ii.

It answers, honestly

A natural voice picks up, tells the caller plainly it's an AI assistant for your business, and gets on with it: what's the job, where, how urgent. On the text-back plan it messages the caller within seconds instead. Either way, nobody hits voicemail.

discloses it's ai · approved answers only

iii.

The job lands in your diary

It knows your services, roughly what they cost, and how long each takes, so it offers real slots from your calendar and books the job in. Prefer to stay in control? It texts you each job to confirm instead. Every call arrives summarised on your phone.

What it will never do

An answering service is only worth having if you can trust what it says with your name on it. So this one runs on rails: rules enforced in the system, not polite suggestions to a chatbot.

/01

It never wings it

It answers only from information you've approved: your services, hours, coverage, price ranges. If a question falls outside that, it says so, takes the caller's details, and passes them to you. It does not improvise.

/02

It never quotes a firm price

Ranges you've approved, with "we'll confirm on the day". Never a binding number, never a discount, never a promise you haven't signed off in writing before go-live.

/03

It never traps a caller

Ask for a human (or press 0) and you get one, instantly, with the full conversation attached so nobody repeats themselves. Complaints and anything sensitive skip the AI entirely.

/04

It never pretends to be human

Every call opens by naming itself as an AI assistant for your business. That's UK and EU law as of this year, and it's also just the right way to treat your customers. They don't mind the AI. They mind the voicemail.

03

Pricing — founding rates

Every plan starts with a free 14-day pilot (no card, no contract), and every plan is monthly: cancel anytime with a week's notice. These are founding-client rates for the first businesses on board, locked in for as long as you stay.

The maths, plainly: for a trade, one recovered job usually covers the month. And at the end of your pilot you don't get a sales call. You get a written list of the calls it caught and what they were worth, and you decide. If it caught you nothing, the pilot extends free rather than you paying for it.

Questions, answered

Does an AI receptionist sound like a robot?

No. Modern voice AI is startlingly natural, and the fair way to judge it is with your own ears: on the demo call I'll have it answer as your business, with your services and your hours. It also always tells callers it's an AI. That's the law now, and honestly, callers don't mind. What they mind is voicemail.

What stops it saying something wrong?

It can only use information you've approved on the setup form: your services, hours, coverage and price ranges. It never invents an answer, never quotes a firm price, and never makes a promise you haven't signed off. Anything outside its brief, it takes the caller's details and passes them straight to you.

What if the caller wants a human?

They say so (or press 0) and they get one. The call transfers to you if you're free, or the AI takes a message with the full conversation attached, so the caller never repeats themselves. Complaints and anything sensitive skip the AI entirely by default.

How does it know my prices and how long jobs take?

You tell it once, on a one-page setup form: what you do, roughly what it costs, and how long each kind of job takes. Connected to your calendar, it offers real available slots sized to the job. If you don't run a calendar, it simply texts you each job to confirm. Plenty of businesses prefer that.

Do I need a new phone number or any equipment?

No. You keep your number and your phone. One 30-second setting forwards calls you don't answer; that's the whole installation. Cancelling is the same setting, switched off.

What's the catch on the free pilot?

There isn't one. Fourteen days, free, no card details. At the end you get a written report of every call it caught and what those jobs were worth, and you decide. If it catches you nothing, I extend the pilot rather than invoice you. After that it's monthly, no contract, cancel anytime with a week's notice.

Who is behind this?

JW Flows is a UK AI automation studio run by Josh Whitehouse. I build and run AI systems on my own businesses daily, and I set this up for you personally: no portal, no DIY configuration, no offshore support queue. Questions? josh@jwflows.com.

The next missed call doesn't have to be.

Fourteen days, free, set up for you. Worst case: a fortnight of your calls answered and a written list of what you'd have missed.
